Mission Update March 19, 2020
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing understanding and patience as we navigate through these uncharted waters. We felt it was important to re-iterate that the district is working towards an educational continuity plan to ensure that students can continue their educational journey this school year. While our physical schools will not be having face-to-face instruction at this time, we look forward to the unveiling of the plan. We do know that each grade will look different as will each course as it pertains to the teacher. During Spring Break, we are asking that students and families continue to follow the Provincial and Federal advisories to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
We are asking that the recommendations by the Provincial Health officials be adhered to. Please stay home and away from others; wash hands often, cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow; avoid touching your face with unwashed hands; avoid travel outside Canada; avoid contact with others including sports that bring you within 2 meters of other people (basketball, ball hockey, etc.), regardless if they are sick or not. International students should not be going out and meeting other students if social distancing cannot be followed. Students should not be visiting other families’ homes, going out to public places where a group of people can gather such as restaurants, malls, movie theatres, etc. The use of public transportation is also discouraged along with international students’ sleepovers.
What can I do – use social media – facetime my friends, play online games with others – have a virtual movie time with Netflix Party, read a book, play games with host families, do your homework or online course you may have already started.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience,
